Pickle Ball Courts

In September 2015, the Pickle Ball Club launched a campaign to collect pledges towards building a Pickle Ball Court(s). When sufficient funds have been pledged, the club will present their proposal to the Club Board for approval. When/if the proposal is approved by the Board, pledgers will be asked to convert their pledge to donations to the Evergreen Villages Foundation to be used for the building of the courts. For more information on the campaign, please contact Garry Gray at 408-274-4502. If you wish to contribute, Click here to view and/or print a copy of the pledge form.
Update as of August 2017: the Club has collected $15,945 on the pledges; EVF has agreed to match up to $50,000 in donations. The project is currently waiting for permit issues to be resolved. Update May 2018 - Construction of the Pickle Ball Courts has been delayed because of City of San Jose mandated additions, the estimated cost of the Pickleball complex has increased to $500,000; far more than the original estimates, although this figure has a lot of extra bells and whistles which may not be necessary or be eliminated to reduce the cost. GM Tim Sutherland, whose philosophy is to figure out the truest and most complete project cost before going to the board (and perhaps the residents for a vote as mandated by the by-laws), is actively involved in the project. The next recommended step is to hire a civil engineer to do a storm water management study and who will pay for that is still unclear. Once a final cost has been determined, the board, the Pickleball Club and the EVF can determine how to share the cost and the project can be let out for bid.
